Manchester United may be set to get a massive boost for their Carabao Cup quarter-final against Tottenham, as Spurs could be without one of their major stars.
Already Spurs have a total of seven players out injured, with Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Ben Davies, Mikey Moore, Wilson Odobert and Richarlison all side-lined.
In a pre-match conference, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed their continued absence, saying: “Van de Ven and Romero are still chugging along. Both will be in new year.”
He continued: “Mikey is back training so hopefully not far away. Next cabs off the rank are Mikey, Ben Davies maybe next week and Richarlison maybe first week of new year.”
However, their injury list may be set to rise to eight with one of their key defenders in question for the game.

Tottenham could be without Destiny Udogie against Manchester United
In their last outing against Southampton, left-back Destiny Udogie was forced off during the first half of their 5-0 win.
The 22-year-old has been vital for Spurs, starting every one of their 16 Premier League games and featuring in each of their previous Carabao Cup wins.
Postecoglou commented on his defender, saying: “From the other night, Destiny has no injury but he is still sore from the game. Not ruling him out but will see how he is with the turnaround.”
So, whilst Udogie isn’t officially set to miss the game, he also isn’t a definite on the team sheet.
This bodes well for United, with Amad Diallo completely on top of his game in the opposing position on the right flank.
Diallo dominated the 2-1 victory over Manchester City, drawing a penalty for Bruno Fernandes‘ equaliser, and then connecting with a long-range pass from Lisandro Martinez to score with spectacular skill.
No doubt Postecoglou will be hoping Udogie is fit enough to keep Diallo at bay, giving Spurs a chance against The Red Devils.
