Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies and schedules for all mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, pipelines, valves, heat exchangers, and other mechanical systems.
- Conduct regular inspections, predictive, and preventive maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of maintenance activities, including equipment history and performance metrics.
Troubleshooting & Repairs:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, providing rapid solutions to minimize operational interruptions.
- Oversee the repair and replacement of defective equipment and components, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
- Coordinate with vendors and external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
Reliability & Integrity Management:
- Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs to enhance asset integrity and extend equipment life.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as mean time between failures (MTBF) and mean time to repair (MTTR) for continuous improvement.
Project Management:
- Assist in planning, budgeting, and executing mechanical maintenance projects, including shutdowns, turnarounds, and upgrades.
- Ensure all maintenance activities align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Participate in design reviews for new equipment installation, ensuring mechanical integrity and maintainability.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ASME, ISO, etc.), local regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices, including conducting risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and ensuring adherence to permit-to-work (PTW) systems.
- Collaborate with the HSE team to develop and implement safety procedures related to mechanical maintenance.
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Liaise with production and process teams to ensure maintenance activities do not negatively impact operations
- Prepare and present maintenance performance reports to management, recommending improvements or upgrades where necessary.
- Maintain effective communication with procurement and inventory teams to ensure spare parts and materials availability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in mechanical maintenance that is in line with experience in static and rotating equipment such as Pumps, generators, and instrument Air Compressors. compressors scrubber, KOD , pressure vessels, etc
- Certification in maintenance management (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional – CMRP) is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems commonly found in upstream oil and gas operations, including rotating and static equipment.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ASME, NACE, and ISO related to mechanical equipment maintenance and integrity
Knowledge and skills:
- Strong experience with CMMS (e.g., SAP, Maximo) and proficiency in scheduling software.
- Proven track record in resource management, work order management, and planning of preventive and corrective maintenance.
- In-depth understanding of maintenance processes and equipment in oil and gas production facilities.
- Knowledge of rotating and static equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Ability to analyze maintenance data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Strong commitment to safety, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with maintenance activities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
