M. Bison and the latest patch are now available in Street Fighter 6. To help him deal with projectiles, which has been a common problem for M. Bison throughout the series, the Psycho Crusher and Overdrive Psycho Crusher were demonstrated to counter zoning options during the character’s gameplay trailer.






However, it turns out that this iconic special move beats more than just projectiles. It actually beats more moves than you’d ever expect it to (under the right circumstances).









Other forward advancing moves such as Lily’s Overdrive Condor Spire (even with Wind Stock), Blanka Ball, and E. Honda’s Sumo Headbutt can be beaten cleanly with the Psycho Crusher. This gives M. Bison a particularly impressive ground game against these fighters.


Of course, the fallen dictator apparently has a super simple method of bypassing Rashid’s level 2 super. This is certainly interesting since the size and scope of this projectile is usually enough to completely box in opponents.


It’s not too surprising to see the Overdrive Psycho Crusher phase through a projectile, even if it is a level 2 super art, but it is odd to see that the Psycho Crusher even overpowers Cammy’s level 3 super art.


Even the act of attacking the move from an awkward angle isn’t a surefire bet against M. Bison since he’s been shown to still win these types of exchanges. Though it’s only the first day since M. Bison was released, the character is already looking like he’ll fit in with the other top tiers.


The reason Psycho Crusher is able to gain the advantage in so many of these situations is due to its invincibility to mid-air attacks, which it has starting on frame 6. This is a trait other moves in the game have as well, such as most Dragon Punches, to help them better anti-air oncoming attacks.
