The EESC Workers’ Group designated today Lucie Studničná to take over as its President for the period 2023-2025. In today’s meeting, the Workers’ Group designated Lucie Studničná to be the next President of the Workers’ Group for the 2023-2025 term of office of the EESC.

She started her professional career working for OS KOVO, the Czech Metalworkers´ Trade Unions, before moving to ČMKOS – the biggest trade union confederation in the Czech Republic, as head of its International Department. She became a member of the EESC in 2010, being active in the INT, REX and CCMI sections. In the period 2015 – 2020 she was President of the CCMI.

Ms Lucie Studničná said: “It is an honour and a privilege to have been nominated as President of my Group today. There is one quote from Václav Havel that stands out for me when I look ahead to the future: ‘Work for something because it is good, not just because it stands a chance to succeed.’

I choose this quote, because I want to embark together with you on the transformation of our Workers’ Group and of the EESC”.

The new President of the Workers’ Group will be confirmed in a vote during the mid-term renewal plenary of the EESC in April 2023.
