Clay Gravesande and AD Smith were an item, but not anymore. Clay had his doubts about marriage, stemming from his father’s infidelity. AD, however, was confident they’d make it as a couple.
Everything seemed fine between them. But when it came to saying “I do” at the altar, Clay backed out. He told AD he couldn’t responsibly marry her, knowing he wasn’t ready.
And boy, was that a shocker.
Clay promised AD he’d work on himself. He said, “We’ll go through this together. I don’t care what anyone says. I know I’m not ready for marriage, and you deserve the best. If I can’t give you 100 percent, I won’t go there with you.”
AD was devastated. She cried, saying their relationship was a waste of her time.
Clay had his reasons, though. He admitted that financial and emotional ties influenced his decision to walk away. He asked himself if he was ready to be a husband, if he was deeply in love. The answer to both was a resounding ‘no.’
At the reunion, Clay had a change of heart. He admitted he’d made a mistake and wanted to date AD again. But AD was non-committal about the idea of them getting back together.
In a twist, AD revealed she’d been on a few dates with co-star Matthew Duliba after filming. But they’re not an item either.
