Ademola Lookman scored a brace to lead the Super Eagles to a comprehensive 3-0 win over Benin Republic in a 2025 Nations Cup qualifiers clash at the Godswil Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday.
The Super Eagles produced a professional performance to get a revenge of their 2-1 loss to Benin Republic in June.
Interim manager, Augustine Eguavoen opted for a 3-4-3 formation with Victor Boniface leading the line, flanked by Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze.
Lookman gave the Super Eagles the lead with a fine individual goal on the stroke of halftime to break the visitors’ resistance.
Nwabali was on top of his game to deny Benin Republic with a superb save before the end of the first half.
Victor Osimhen came off the bench to score the second goal in the 79th minute to make it 2-0.
Lookman rounded off the victory with a well-placed header in the 83rd minute.
The Super Eagles will be hoping to continue their impressive form against Rwanda on Tuesday in Kigali.
