Intro
Calling all adventurous couples! This exciting opportunity seeks a passionate duo to manage a stunning game farm and lodge nestled within the Welgevonden Game Reserve, South Africa.
Minimum Requirements
- FGASA Level 1
- Valid PDP
- First Aid
- Game drive experience.
- Game Farm and Lodge Management and Daily Lodge Admin
Bonus/advantage criteria would include:
- Hecould be qualified as a Nature Guide and have Qualifications NQF 2 or lead guide. Maintenance and construction, building and project management will be advantageous.
- Shecould also be a Nature Guide but must have experience in general lodge administration, Food, Beverage, Hosting, and Housekeeping. Qualifications as a chef will be an ideal extra advantage.
The primary / main duties and responsibilities of the position will include:
- Transfers of guests between OR Tambo/Pretoria/Johannesburg and Welgevonden Game Reserve (currently 5-7 trip per month – 600km round trip).
- Maintenance and general game management of 250 Ha Game Farm.
- Managing & running the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of the lodge (The successful candidate would need to manage 4 staff members (2 ladies for the lodge and 2 males for the farm duties), check on the guests to make sure they are happy, and interact with them etc.)
- Doing basic game drives and nature walks with kids and families at the Game Farm and Sister property Lodge (when needed) within the Welgevonden Game Reserve with the Big 5
- The Game Lodge is self-catering so the candidate will not need to host Guests unless invited by the Guests.
- Although based at the Game Lodge, the most appropriately qualified successful candidate will be needed for two week assignments to assist at the sister property in Welgevonden Game Reserve.
