Liyel Imoke, Former PDP Emperor Now A Political Beggar By Ogon Bonaventure

The former governor of Cross River Liyel Imoke whose voice thundered in the whole of the 196 council wards of the state from the creeks of Calabar south, Bakassi to the mountain of Obanliku and the grassland of Bekwarra and Yala like a growling lion, is now sober, frail and sick looking.

His grey hair now looks dull grey and brown like an old baboon. He complain of all his closest associate then, now deserting him, he prized himself a demagogue then, but today he confess that he “traded certainty for uncertainty”.

This was the exact words he described himself when he Nicodemously visited Prince Goddy Jeddy Agba by 2:00AM sometime ago, begging with red eyes. The forgiving  prince with the heart of an angel, forgave him to paved his ways with God. If the holy Bible says the consequence of sin is death, the soul that sinneth shall die, does he deserved forgiveness? Those rival he betrayed politically should not allow him close to themselves again.

Rumours had it yesterday that he even call sen.Victor Ndoma Egba on Friday night begging for forgiveness,oh see how the mighty are fallen, did he ever thought of this day in 2015?. The worst that happen to him presently is his forceful retirement from politics by the one he imposed on us, during the last congress of PDP in Cross River State, the governor make sure he dismantle all the structures put in place by Imoke, and replace them with his appointees. He made sure all the senators, Reps members and all the state legislators had no say in electing the new party structure in the state. With this act, he had retired Imoke permanently from politics.

Imoke knew this,he had no alternative than to make peace with those he thought he could forcefully retire from politics in 2015. Some time ago, he personally and later send delegation to beg chief Okoi Obono-obla the SA to the president on prosecution, whom he once sue 1 billion for defamation.

The present fate of Sen. Liyel Imoke should be a moral lessons for some political godfather, who derived pleasure in imposition and impunity which is gradually becoming an old fashion. A man who imposed all the political positions in Cross River State, whose voice was intimidating like the voice of a lion in the forest is now going around begging all those he booted out for forgiveness and those he booted in now see him with contempt.
