Lily Williams Foundation Pays 57 Pupils School Fees At Ogoja

Lily Williams Foundation Pays School Fees Of Fifty Seven (57) Pupils At Saint Vincent Primary School Alladim(Ibil-Ogoja).

The Foundation has been superb ever since they started and now raising the hopes of the needy as they culminate their life changing will to the people of Ogoja.

Last time they visited a school in Mbube and now Alladim where they paid the fees of 57 Pupils right away. And before the money was handed over to the Head Teacher, the Lily Williams Foundation (LWF) did a succinct interview with the Head Teacher (H.T).

Read the interview below:

LWF: The School Was Practically empty the last time we visited to take names of pupils for scholarship, what happened?

Head Teacher – We embark on a fee drive from 3rd week every term. And based on the fact that the school is in the suburbs where villagers believe more in farming than schooling, parents delay before paying fees. Most times after resumption we have to send the town crier to announce round the village that pupils should resume.

LWF: An annoyingly hilarious episode ensued when we came here  last week. We interviewed one of your pupils and asked why only two teachers were in school, she responded that some of the teachers went to their farms.  I don’t know if she was trying to be funny anyways. Sir, how factual is that?

H.T: Well, i cant really say. The thing is,most of our teachers don’t live in this community, they come from other communities, so how did the student know they went farming? Maybe she was actually trying to he funny.

LWF: Okay, i agree with you there. Lets get to business. Whats the total number of your pupils?

H.T  – One hundred and thirteen (113).

LWF:  Checked the registers and records to confirm the number and saw that 56 out of the 113 had paid.  We then asked the principal to write an acknowledgement receipting the  sum of #14,250. Being payment for the fees of 57 pupils at #250 per pupil . The head teacher did and the money was handed over to him.

We went further to ask how the monies paid got to the government, he said there is a government account where all government schools deposit such monies.

He thanked the foundation and prayed for the staff and founder. He then talked about the classrooms that some had no desks and kids learn on the floor most times. We said we already noted that the last time we came and we will do something about that as soon as possible.

The Lily Williams Foundation has promised not to relent in its quest to “Keeping Dreams Alive”
