Less is more with Luxlo's sexy Zero Suit Samus cosplays

As far as her in-game appearances go, Samus Aran is most commonly seen in her full Varia armor. As far as cosplays go, far and away the most popular of the character’s looks has been in her Zero Suit attire, a light blue skin-tight body suit that she normally wears under her various power suits.

In her extensive catalogue of pop culture imitations (as well as a good amount of boudoir content) cosplayer Luxlo has quite a few photos as the least-protected version of Samus Aran. In fact, she takes things a bit farther and strips down to the bikini version for some.

Avid Metroid fans knew Zero Suit Samus (ZSS) from her usually brief appearances in cut scenes from many of the 2D side scroller adventures, but it wasn’t until 2008’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl that a much larger part of the gaming public found out what Samus dons under her various power suits.

Samus has appeared in every Smash game to date, but it was in Brawl that developers decided to include this side of her. When Samus activated her Final Smash in this game, she’d divert all power to a massive beam from her blaster.

This would usually mean the end for any and all foes on the battlefield, but it also used up every last bit of Samus’ power meaning she could no longer use her Varia suit for a time.

Reactions to this version of the character were so favorable (despite the fact that she has access to very few attacks and is extremely weakened in this state) that in 2014’s Super Smash Bros. 4, Zero Suit Samus was added as a standalone character.

This continued into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and we’ve most definitely noticed a spike in Zero Suit cosplays (there’s gotta be five or six for every one traditional Samus by this point) across social media.

We kick our showcase of Luxlo’s cosplay off here with a few collections of traditional ZSS as well as a video. The first sees her in what might be a kind of abandoned observatory, perhaps alluding to the character’s themes of space travel and exploration.

Next up we get a video of Luxlo at home offering us a handful of different poses. We have to appreciate the high heels, which can’t be easy to save the universe in.

As mentioned, Luxlo also shows off a ZSS bikini look. You might not notice it initially, but she’s actually on a distant planet with a gorgeous sky and beautiful scenery. Also, she chooses to traverse this rocky terrain in those same high heels.

We close out with a collection of photos featuring both Samus looks, though some now have an added effect as she’s in the middle of shooting off her blaster.
