Calabar Royal Leo Lions Club, District 404A2 Nigeria has provided another rounds of succour to a visually impaired man, Christopher Edet in Calabar NEGROIDHAVEN can say.
According to Martin Bassey the Second President of the Leo Lions Club, ‘the Lions Club has the mandate of caring for the needed and less privileged, so when information got to us that there was a blind man who could not cater for his family, we came together as a club and then pulled our resources together and decided to visit to give him the small support we could.’

On her part, the immediate past president of the Leo Lions Club and Chartered President of the Club, Mercy Asuquo who informed that one of the core projects in the Lions Club International is carrying out projects to the blind and visually-impaired and submitting that: ‘together we can do it better’ called on the public to serve the less privilege in society ‘come join us, let’s serve the needy better’. She added that ‘what gives me joy is the satisfaction I get from serving the needy… Which even the Bible recommends’.
The Service Project Chairperson for the Club, simply identified as Victoria who said this particular project was an emotional outing thanked God that her Club was able to come through for Edet.
In his response, the visually-impaired Edet while appreciating the Lions Club said ‘I am happy for the gesture, may God bless you. For seeing that because of my handicap, I couldn’t be engaged in activities which could turn around my fortune, may God bless you and all your initiatives’.
