Lee Chaolan is one of the 32 characters that will be present on Tekken 8’s base roster when the game launches on January 26 — next Friday. To tide over Lee fans until then, Bandai Namco has dropped Lee’s gameplay trailer for Tekken 8.
Aside from Tekken 3, Lee has been a playable fighter in every Tekken title since the original Tekken when it was released back in 1994. Within the Tekken 8 trailer, Lee is given the nickname of “Silver Haired-Demon.” He’s also been known to go by the name “Violet.”
Originally a Chinese orphan, Lee was adopted by Heihachi Mishima to be a rival a young Kazuya Mishima. Of course, the Mishima family hasn’t ever been known to be a happy one. Lee has a strong dislike for his adoptive father and adoptive older brother, but is sometimes willing to work with his adoptive nephew (Jin Kazama).
As demonstrated in the trailer, Lee is known for having a particularly cocky attitude. In a rival cutscene with Lars, the two begin by trading blows via Lee’s kick to Lars’ punch.
Though Lee has been trained to fight with the Mishima Style, he tends to prefer fighting with Martial Arts. Needless to say, he’s demonstrated to be quite the kicking specialist in the trailer.
