Today Manchester United representatives met with representatives of Lecce to discuss a deal for Patrick Dorgu.
The versatile left-back is deemed a strong option to replace Luke Shaw as the first choice left-wing-back at Old Trafford.
Amorim utilises attacking wing-backs in his system, with Dorgu being used on the right-wing for the Serie A club despite being a natural defender.
As such, the club have sent representatives to Italy in a bid to securing the Denmark international.
Now, Sky Sports have revealed details on the meeting, with an update from Lecce’s President.

Lecce’s President speaks about meeting for Patrick Dorgu
Speaking about the meeting, Lecce president Sticchi Damiani commented: “The meeting went well, it was a cordial meeting. For us it is a satisfaction to sit at the table with Manchester United and talk about a player who comes from our Spring.”
He continued: “It means that it is a remarkable growth path for the club and that we are very happy about.
“We explained to Manchester that our will at the moment is to try to keep our staff unchanged, retaining all the big ones, especially Dorgu.
“We tried to make it clear that for us it is an important appointment with the storai this year. We could reach the third historic salvation.
“Despite being flattered by Manchester’s offer, for us the priority is the sporting result which is fundamental.”
This definite desire to retain Dorgu shows that if United are keen to sign the left-back, a significant offer will need to be submitted.
