Given his vested interest and commitment to youth development in Nigeria coupled with his exceptional and inspirational achievements, the Global Shapers Calabar Hub would soon induct the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon John Gaul Lebo into its Board of Trustees.
It was indicated in a letter to the Assembly Speaker by the Global Shapers Calabar Hub that plans were already underway for the proper investiture of the Rt. Hon John Gaul Lebo as a member of the body’s Board of Trustees.
The Global Shapers Calabar Hub in a letter to Hon Lebo which was signed by its Hub Curator, Esther Eshiet added that the association strongly believes that it would benefit immensely from Hon Lebo’s contributions and insights.
”The Global Shapers Community is a network of city-based Hubs developed and led by young leaders between 20 and 30 years old who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements and their drive to make a contribution to their communities.
”Shapers are highly motivated individuals who have a great potential for future leadership roles in society. They are selected on the basis of their achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to make a difference. Through the Global Shapers Community, Shapers are provided with opportunities to connect with the worldwide network of Global Shapers, to network with other World Economic Forum communities, and to represent the voice of youth at World Economic Forum events,” the letter observed.
It further said: ”Shapers are united by a common desire to channel the members’ tremendous energy and enthusiasm into building a more peaceful and inclusive world. With global membership strength of over 5,000 shapers representing 416 hubs, the Global Shapers community presents the opportunity for collective action on development issues driven at the community level”.
