Lead Cost Excellence at NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is the state oil corporation which was established on April 1, 1977. In addition to its exploration activities, the Corporation was given powers and operational interests in refining, petrochemicals and products transportation as well as marketing. Between 1978 and 1989, NNPC constructed refineries in Warri, Kaduna and Port Harcourt and took over the 35,000-barrel Shell Refinery established in Port Harcourt in 1965.

In 1988, the NNPC was commercialised into 12 strategic business units, covering the entire spectrum of oil industry operations: exploration and production, gas development, refining, distribution, petrochemicals, engineering, and commercial investments. Currently, the subsidiary companies include:

Manage cost performance reviews

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate business and asset cost performance metrics
Coordinate the process of cost analytics to understand cost drivers and interdependencies of cost
Coordinate the process of setting benchmarks for NEPL operational costs using tools like Questor and other peer benchmark data
Liaise with process excellence unit to acheive cost leadership for NEPL across the industry

Educational Qualification

Bachelor degree in Economics, Sciences, Engineering, or any of the Business/Social Sciences/Management Sciences discipline.
A Master degree is an added advantage Professional qualification and membership of at least one professional body e.g. PMI, SPE, NAPE, NSE, NIM etc.

Competence

Skills in cost benchmarking, finance and cost-allocation
Skills in cost performance reporting
Skills in NEPL internal business processes and operation flow charts
Skills in historical cost reporting and cost forecasting
Competence in ISO standards and process change management

Experience

Minimum of 9 years relevant post qualification experience
Experience in the oil and gas industry will be an added advantage.
