The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is the state oil corporation which was established on April 1, 1977. In addition to its exploration activities, the Corporation was given powers and operational interests in refining, petrochemicals and products transportation as well as marketing. Between 1978 and 1989, NNPC constructed refineries in Warri, Kaduna and Port Harcourt and took over the 35,000-barrel Shell Refinery established in Port Harcourt in 1965.
In 1988, the NNPC was commercialised into 12 strategic business units, covering the entire spectrum of oil industry operations: exploration and production, gas development, refining, distribution, petrochemicals, engineering, and commercial investments. Currently, the subsidiary companies include:

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate monitoring of adherence to extant policies & procedures
Provide administrative support to the DM, Ethics & Compliance. Develop and implement an effective legal compliance programme.
Constantly report to management concerning the organization’s compliance with laws and regulations.
Communicate with employees and make sure everyone is aware of what they need to do to comply with internal and external laws and regulations.
Develop and implement a compliance program to ensure NEPL operates in accordance with enabling laws
Determine compliance metrics and establish a system for tracking them
Remain up to date on extant laws related to the NEPL and update policies accordingly
Perform compliance audits to identify potential weaknesses and noncompliance situations and make recommendations on how they can be improved
Maintain up to date written documentation on policies related to the organization's business activities
Educational Qualification
First Degree or its equivalent in Social/Business/Management Sciences/Engineering or related fields
A Master degree is an added advantage
Certification in Professional membership of any of the relevant body e.g. ICSAN, ACA, ACCA, ANAN, NES, NSE, COREN, etc.
