But she still kicks his butt
Street Fighter 6 isn’t the only game for the franchise Capcom has in the works right now with Street Fighter VR Shadaloo Empowerment Project coming in the near future too.
The company held a special Capcom TV broadcast earlier today in Japan, and while SF6 didn’t receive any additional info at the event, they did provide a live demonstration of Street Fighter VR in action with the presenter realizing just how big Zangief is in person.
As shown by the start of the demo, the player appears in the wrestler’s Street Fighter 5 stage before wooden boxes materialize that Zangief destroys with his lariat.
The lady they have in the VR setup appears genuinely shocked when Gief appears in front of her, which isn’t too surprising considering the dude is over 7 feet tall and 400 lbs.
It almost seems like this could be a horror game based on her initial reactions, but she did know how to fight back.

When red Gief walks forward with his V-Skill 1 from SF5, she blocks and then Shoryukens him when he tries to jump.
To get the full grappler experience, however, she also gets taken for a ride on Zangief’s SPD grab, which appears to be less dizzying than it would be in real life.
Although we’ve still only seen Ryu and Gief in action thus far, the initial trailer and promotional material also seem to confirm that M. Bison, Akuma and Shadaloo grunts will be included as enemies to battle in the full game.
Street Fighter VR is currently in development for Japanese arcades / amusement centers, but maybe someday we’ll receive a home version too to take our aggression out on the characters.
