“She said yes!” That was the start of it all. But, it wasn’t without a bit of Jason’s nonsense first.
On the New Heights podcast, aired on Sept. 7, the couple spilled the beans about their engagement. Jason, the one who popped the question, confessed right off the bat that he’s not exactly the “romantic” type.
The proposal happened in an unexpected place – his car. They were just leaving Kylie’s parents’ house when he decided to make his move. Jason was in a bit of a pickle, though. He didn’t know how to sneak back into the house without raising suspicions.
He explained his dilemma, “If I said, ‘Hey, I gotta go chat with your dad for a sec,’ it would’ve been super weird.” So, he went for a different tactic.
Jason’s Plan B? He told Kylie, “Hey, I’m sorry but I gotta take a bathroom break.” Not exactly the most romantic line, but it did the trick.
But Kylie wasn’t fooled. She knew something was up when Jason came back just a few minutes later. She called him out, “Jason, I know you didn’t just go in there for a bathroom break. You usually take 20 minutes.”
Jason decided to drop the act. It was time to get down to the real deal.
He confessed, “This isn’t the most romantic way to do this.” Kylie remembered that moment vividly. She started crying, not because of his lack of romance, but because she knew what was coming. She knew it was the proposal she had been waiting for.
