Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema swap jokes ahead of crunch Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain star reportedly set for summer transfer to Real Madrid

The sight of Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema sharing a joke together will make the blood of Paris Saint-Germain fans boil.

The pair, who are teammates with the France national team, exchanged pleasantries ahead of PSG’s crunch Champions League tie with Real Madrid.

Mbappe is at the centre of the tie with a summer move to the Bernabeu heavily mooted.

Los Blancos tried to sign Mbappe last summer, tabling a reported £189million offer for the World Cup winner.

PSG firmly rejected the approach but failure to tie him down to a new deal means he’s set to leave the French giants on the expiration of his contract in the summer.

Liverpool were previously linked with the 23-year-old, however, the latest reports suggest Mbappe has decided to join Real Madrid.

It’s impossible to know what was said between the pair but this may well have been a conversation between future club mates.

But any ill-feeling towards Mbappe from the PSG faithful will be gone for the time being as the Frenchman’s stoppage-time strike gave them the advantage going into the second leg.

Mbappe’s fine run and finish under Thibaut Courtois sealed a 1-0 win ahead of the second leg at the Bernabeu on March 9.

The match also saw Lionel Messi have a second-half penalty saved after Dani Carvajal tripped over Mbappe inside the box.
