There’s been uncertainty in the air as to the cause of the heavy downpour of rain in Calabar this morning.
Most residents believe it is a signal of the presence of two strong forces meeting in one location.
In report, the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewaure II had arrived Calabar, the capital of Cross River State to pay visit to one of the natural rulers in Nigeria, the Obong of Calabar, His Eminence, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V.
It is believed that this two force have age long myth in their ability to alter weather conditions and it is unclear whether this is the case here as early week forecast did not indicate that Calabar would have rainfall anytime within the week.
It was however observed that, few moments after the arrival of the Oba of Benin at the Margaret Ekpo Int’l Airport, the cloud conditions change.
One of the traditional custodians of the Efik people speaking to our correndence from the palace who pleaded anonymity stated clearly that today holds a different wonder for the city and the rain is the first sign.
