At this point, we’ve already seen the character gameplay and story trailers for Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot, the three characters coming to Mortal Kombat 1 via the Khaos Reigns update on September 24, 2024. NetherRealm Studios is now ready to unveil the Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns story expansion launch trailer.
As for Ghostface, the T-1000, and Conan the Barbarian, they’ll be added as DLC fighters at a later point. However, NetherRealm Studios provided a sneak peek at Ghostface within the new trailer.
Those familiar with the Scream films are probably already aware that multiple people have don the Ghostface mask. The surprise twist with this Fatality is that a second Ghostface will assist the player-controlled Ghostface to butcher the opponent.
In terms of the story elements, the opening scene sees Havik’s forces entering Outworld during a battle that was seemingly initiated by the Lin Kuei. Ultimately, it would seem that Outworld and Earthrealm will have to ally themselves with the Lin Kuei in order to overcome the threat that Havik poses.
However, it turns out that there’s also a great deal of tension between Cyrax and Sektor. It would seem that these two are destined to oppose one another even in what is supposed to be Liu Kang’s more peaceful timeline.
“When this crisis ends, we settle our differences,” says Sektor in the trailer. Of course, this was directed at Cyrax. More than likely, Cyrax will discover some inconvenient truths regarding the Lin Kuei during Havik’s invasion.
Finally, we also get to see the full version of Noob Saibot’s Animality, which seems to have taken some inspiration from one of his Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 11. Check it all out below:
