The second DLC Kameo, Khameleon, has been made available in Mortal Kombat 1. This is a unique Kameo that’s capable of utilizing moves from Kitana, Mileena, and Jade’s kits.
Just like with the Tremor Kameo, Khameleon can be picked up as a standalone Kameo for $4.99. However, those that purchased the Kombat Pack have technically already paid for Khameleon, and can download her at no extra cost.
As mentioned before, Khameleon has access to iconic moves that you’d typically expect to see from either Kitana, Mileena, or Jade. As such, this has given Khameleon the description of being a versatile, utility, and extender type Kameo all at once.
Though Khameleon essentially has unique stances that determines which moves she’ll perform when called out, her stance system functions differently than that of Tremor’s. It’ll be important to pay attention to which character colors Khameleon is emulating on her Kameo gauge as it will determine her action.
For example, calling Khameleon out when she’s mimicking Jade can give the player access to Jade’s iconic Glow special, rendering temporary invulnerability against projectiles. However, the players themselves won’t have control over which female ninja Khameleon is behaving like, so timing is key to utilizing her correctly.
We’ll just have to experiment and see which character has the best synergy with Khameleon in the long run.
