Purpose:  To manage a portfolio of brands within several key account customers at a national level (i.e. Grocer channel, Independent Liqour stores, etc) in order to exceed sales targets, including negotiating key volume, revenue and visibility drivers and achieving various brand objctives, resulting in profitable growth.  

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant B Degree in Business / Finance (MBA will be an additional advantage)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Sales/ Marketing or Customer Marketing environment
  • Minimum of 2 years financial related experience
  • Minimum of 5 years FMCG related experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience in managing Key accounts
  • IT literate on an advanced level
  • Own vehicle
  • Willing to do business travel (local)

 Job Summary:

  • Achievement of sales targets (volume & value), retaining and growing customer base
  • Negotiate national agreements with relevant customers and ensure implementation
  • Achieve gross margin targets within agreed discount framework
  • Negotiate annual trading term agreements with retailers within agreed parameters
  • Negotiate product listings
  • Negotiate cycle plan, promotional, advertising and broadsheet activities
  • Achieve merchandising and brand visibility targets as per in-trade execution plans
  • Provide accurate forecasting of business and market needs
  • Developing strong relationships with customers; connecting with key business executives and stakeholders
  • Act as Brand Ambassador
  • Managing and negotiate price, promotions and discounts
  • Visit Key account Provincial offices regularly
  • Collaboration with Sales teams
  • Interact and liaise with Marketing regarding buyer trends and behaviour
  • Drafting and presenting management with sales and key accounts reports and various other relevant reports
  • Provide trade market feedback to Sales teams and provide guidance where required
