It always feels like the range of fighting game merchandise is near limitless in what products can be encompassed, but it’s a bit surprising this crossover didn’t happen earlier.
Kazuya Mishima may have finally had his dreams fulfilled by having a pair of sneakers modeled after the fighter in a new Tekken 8 X Nike collaboration incoming.
The special Tekken Nike Air Foamposite One was recently unveiled to the world that includes a bunch of references to the new fighting game and its original protagonist.
Nike’s outer Foamposite material is designed to look like Kazuya’s leather jacket that he wears as his default costume in Tekken 8, but that’s not all.
There’s also an “8” logo on one of the tongues, the G Corp. logo one of the insoles and the word “Fist” printed across the bottom sole with blue lightning — so we’re wondering if the other one says “Fate” to match the game’s tag line.
Plus, they come in a special box designed after the Tekken 8 cover art.
This sneaker is reportedly slated to release sometime in September in limited quantities for $250 USD.
A second Tekken line from Nike is said to be coming in the future themed around Jin Kazama though that hasn’t been shown off to the public yet.
Making this collab a reality is pretty much perfect for the fighting game since Kazuya was described as a sneaker collector all the way back in his character bios for the first few games, which Tekken Director Katsuhiro Harada confirmed a few years ago was still canon.
Said love for shoes was brought back up again in Tekken 8 with Kazuya depicted standing in front of a giant golden wall of sneakers, so I guess taking over most of the world does have its perks.

Tekken is of course not the only fighting game to get a sneaker deal with Street Fighter previously teaming up with both Reebok and Onitsuka Tiger to release some custom kicks themed around the world warriors.
More information regarding the Tekken X Nike collaboration line will be revealed at a later date.
