The Kano State Police Command has ramped up security operations ahead of the 2025 Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The police warn that anyone found disturbing public peace will face the law.
Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Bakori, on Wednesday, called for vigilance and proactive security strategies on the side of the officers of the command.
He attributed the heightened security measures to increasing reports of touting, mobile phone snatching, and violence fueled by drug abuse among youths.
“Residents should remain calm and go about their lawful activities without fear of harassment.
“The full weight of the law will be brought upon individuals or groups found guilty of spreading misinformation or attempting to disrupt public peace,” Bakori warned.
The CP assured residents that security agencies would work together to curb threats while also organising in-house training sessions to enhance officers’ skills.
