A review of the proposed Kano State 2025 budget has shown that lawmakers plan to spend N997.3 million on international travels in 2025.
According to the document, local travel and transport will gulp N30 million, this will mean that both local travel and international travels are expected to gulp N1.027 billion in the 2025 fiscal year.

The house of assembly also plans to spend N21 million on office stationeries and computer.
Books are expected to gulp N7.1 million, printing of non-security documents are expected to gulp N15.6 million, the state house of assembly also plans to spend N50 million on uniforms and other clothing.
Foodstuffs and catering materials are expected to cost N10.6 million, legal services are also expected to gulp N152 million.
The lawmakers’ plan to spend N997 million on international travels and another N30 million on local travels comes amid lamentations of dearth in infrastructural facilities in Kano state.
Per precedence, the state has a history of high budget performance for budgeted expenditure such as travels for lawmakers, although other sectors are said to be lacking in attention.
For instance, Kano state residents have over time lamented lack of clean water in the state.
Kano state has also over time suffered from Cholera outbreaks. As of October 2024, 45 persons were said to have died from Cholera in 28 local government areas of the state.
Despite this figure, the Kano state rural water and sanitation agency budget in 2024 stood at N1.992 billion.
