Kameo tier list reveals which assist characters are best and worst in Mortal Kombat 1

Cyrax is the best, to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that. But there are 14 other characters you can pair your Mortal Kombat 1 main fighter with to enhance their battle abilities whether that be for initiating offense, extending combos, or getting out of sticky situations.

Rooflemonger has been exploring MK1 extensively and has put together a full tier list ordering each and every one of the Kameo characters. He takes time to articulate why each character ranks where they do, and if you want a better understanding of Mortal Kombat 1 and its all-important Kameo mechanic, Roof’s video is a must.

Roof spreads the Kameo cast among six different tiers including S+, S, A+, A, B, and C. He specifically notes that he doesn’t feel like any particular Kameo is awful (save for maybe the one in C tier) but that some just have obvious advantages and utility over others.

Three of these categories actually house only one character each, while the majority are all lumped into either A+ or A tier. This kind of approach speaks to the notable standouts and perhaps helps identify where developers may need to tweak things in the future.

If you’d like to see the final product you can simply click the thumbnail here. You’ll want to hear Rooflemonger’s reasonings behind each of his placements, however, and to get that you’ll need to watch through the full video, which is embedded below.

Please share your thoughts on Mortal Kombat 1’s Kameo tiers in the comments once you’ve had a chance to check out this list. Whom are you using these days? Is there some undiscovered juice in one of the perceived lower tiers?
