Fatal Fury’s return has been focusing mostly on its heroes since the new game was revealed last year, but it’s finally time to see what the “bad guys” are up to.
SNK just announced Kain R. Heinlein as the newest playable character for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves with a gameplay trailer at the Evo Awards to show off what he can do after 25 years.
Kain previously only appeared in Garou: Mark of the Wolves as a special final boss, and he was only playable through a secret code on the character select screen.
Now he can let loose on the main roster for the first time ever, and he’s not here to play around.
Rock Howard’s uncle has back some familiar normals as well as specials like Schwarze Flamme, Schwarze Panzer, Schwarze Stoß and his Supers Himmlische Atem and Himmlische Seele.
The previous extra boss seems to have a few new tricks up his fancy sleeves too with what looks like a new trap and all of the REV bonuses provided by the systems in City of the Wolves.
It’ll also be interesting to see if SNK keeps Kain as a charge character like in Garou or if they’ll change him to motions or even a mix of both.
The brother-in-law of Geese Howard marks the 14th character announced for the base roster following Gato and Kim Dong Hwan, but there should still remain just a few more we have yet to see.
Kain will also be one of the eight playable characters available in the Fatal Fury open beta coming next week, so fans won’t have to wait very long to try him out for themselves.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is slated to release on April 24, 2025 on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
