Manchester United are entering another rebuild as the January transfer window approaches, with manager Ruben Amorim aiming to reshape the squad.
Amorim’s shift to a 3-4-3 system has sparked speculation about who fits his plans.
The left wing-back has become a priority area for reinforcements.
Amorim has had to deploy Diogo Dalot in that position in some games.
It is a clear position that Amorim will have earmarked, in order to provide left sided balance.
Previous reports have linked United to Milos Kerkez and Ben Chilwell as potential signings to strengthen the defensive flanks.
Kerkez has impressed at Bournemouth, while Chilwell offers proven experience but struggles with injuries.
Luke Shaw remains United’s first-choice left-back when fit, but his recurring injuries leave gaps that need filling.
However, United could be set to lose one of their left-sided options.

Tyrell Malacia initially showed promise after joining from Feyenoord but has been sidelined by injuries, limiting his chances to impress Amorim.
Now fit again, Malacia faces stiff competition and may well struggle for regular game time.
According to report from TuttoJuve, Serie A side Juventus are eyeing Malacia as a defensive reinforcement in January.
With Danilo set to leave and Bremer and Juan Cabal injured, Juve seek versatile options for their backline.
A loan deal for Malacia until the end of the season is seen as a possibility, with Juventus viewing him as a “last-minute opportunity” to bolster their squad.
Thiago Motta is said to be a fan of players who provide versatility and adaptability.
Malacia would certainly fit that bill as he could provide cover at left-back and left wing-back.
Borussia Dortmund and Lyon are two of several clubs interested in acquiring Malacia’s services.
The 25-year-old had a positive start to life at United under Erik ten Hag.
However, injuries have prevented him becoming a stalwart at left-back.
