Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has spoken about rumours linked to Manchester United striker, Joshua Zirkzee.

Giuntoli has denied any links to the striker, who only recently joined United ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The Italian has reiterated that the club’s focus for the January transfer window is solely on signing defenders.

Reports previously linked Juventus with a move for Zirkzee, who caught attention with his performances at Bologna under Thiago Motta last season.

However, Giuntoli’s comments suggest that attacking reinforcements are not currently a priority.

Speaking to Sky Sports Italia, Giuntoli said: “We are waiting for Arek Milik. Zirkzee is very talented, but he is part of another team and I cannot say more than that.

“We are thinking of something very different,” insisted Giuntoli.

“Milik is having his recovery process after surgery, we are happy and think he could be back within 15-20 days.”

Zirkzee had a dream start at Manchester United after joining the club for £36m, scoring a late winner in their Premier League opener against Fulham.

Since then, his contributions have been limited, with only two more goals to his name – both coming in United’s 4-0 victory over Sean Dyche’s Everton earlier this month.

Zirkzee has since struggled to adapt to life at Manchester United, fueling rumors of interest from Juventus and Napoli.

The striker previously thrived under Motta at Bologna, where their partnership was key to securing the club’s first Champions League qualification since the 1964/65 season.

The 23-year-old is expected to remain at United, in aims of becoming a regular starter under Amorim.
