For every fighting game, there’s always at least one tier list out there. Needless to say, those at the top are often referred to as being overpowered by the players who play the game that they’re in.
It would seem that Justin Wong recently decided to determine which top tier threats are the most powerful across all fighting games. To do this, Justin Wong consulted 100 fighting game players at Tampa Never Sleeps.
To begin, players would first reach into a bag of pictures of the most notorious fighting game characters, hailing from both old school and modern fighters. Following this, that person would then have to decide which tier to place that combatant — S tier, A tier, B tier, C tier, or D tier.
Those in the bag included the likes of Tekken 7’s Leroy Smith, Mortal Kombat X’s Tanya, Injustice’s Scorpion, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Steve, Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition’s Yun, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition’s Ivan Ooze, Dragon Ball FighterZ’s GT Goku, Street Fighter 6’s Ken, and many more.
Eventually, Justin Wong would allow participants to switch the placements of two fighters on the tier list. This often resulted in a character going from S tier to D tier and vice versa.
