20-year-old Uduak Frank Akpan, the suspected killer of 26-year-old job seeker, Iniubong Umoren, a graduate of Philosophy from the University of Uyo in Akwa Ibom State has confessed before the press the notion of his actions.
Uduak Akpan confessed while being paraded by the Police in Uyo on Friday, May 14, 2021, that late Umoren agreed to sleep with him.
His words: “It was not intentional, it was self-defence”.
Continuing, Akpan said “She came for a supposed job interview and I asked her if she can work in the farm where hard drugs are kept as a Secretary, she said she can and she is ready to do the job. She said she even takes marijuana and cocaine.
“So, when she came, I used a reversed psychology on her – I revealed to her that this farm does not exist and there is no farm like that.
“I told her that before she leaves, I will like to have s3.x with her and she agreed but on a condition that I should use protection which I did and while I removed the cønd∅m, she became furious and she took the nearby stabiliser to hit me on my head and she bit my left finger and tried to reach for the door. So, while I was bleeding, I used the stabiliser to hit her and when I did, she fell and started bleeding – thereafter, she died”.
When pressed harder, Frank Akpan said he also used a pressing iron on her abdomen.
He said Umoren was not his first victim. He said, though, only Umoren had died but he has used “the same reverse psychology on about 6 girls”.
He said no one helped him in burying the victim’s body.
Frank said he is a student of Obong University, a private university in Akwa Ibom State and that he is in 300 Level in the department of Public Administration.
The suspect said Kufre Effiong that was also linked to the death of Umoren is his cousin but did not help in his atrocities.
He revealed that while he used reverse psychology on Miss Umoren was because of his bad experience with runs-girls and prostitutes.
“I felt it is the only way to revenge the prostitutes and runs-girls. I used to patronise prostitutes but now I no longer do”, Uduak Akpan said.
Akpan concluded that he is not happy about what he has done. “I believe that the Commissioner of Police is working and has assured Nigerians and Akwa Ibomites and the entire World that justice will take its course”, he said.
He said none of his family members was aware of his act.
Late Iniubong Umoren remains was buried amidst tears on May 14, 2022, in her home town in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and even the rain decided to give her the last respect.
