Just In: Anthony Joshua Involves in Fatal Road Accident that Claims Two Lives  in Ogun

Two people have reportedly lost their lives following a serious road accident involving British-Nigerian boxing icon Anthony Joshua on Monday morning. The incident took place near Makun, Ogun State, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The crash occurred around 11:00 AM near the Danco Filling Station, shortly before the Sagamu Interchange. According to eyewitness accounts, Joshua was traveling in a Lexus SUV with registration KRD 850 HN, as part of a two-vehicle convoy.

The Lexus reportedly struck a stationary truck under circumstances currently being analyzed by the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).

There were four people in the Lexus at the time of the impact. Joshua was reportedly seated in the rear of the vehicle.

Conflicting details emerged from the scene regarding the specific victims, but witnesses confirmed two fatalities occurred instantly. Another eyewitness said that Joshua sustained only minor injuries. The source also said that the passenger in the front seat and another occupant died on impact.

Men of the FRSC arrived on the scene shortly after the crash to assist with rescue operations and traffic management. Attempts to reach the TRACE Commandant, Akinbiyi Babatunde, for an official statement were unsuccessful as of press time.
