Nigerian Senator who represents Anambra South on the platform of the All Progressives Congress or APC, Mr Ifeanyi Ubah is dead.
He had defected to the APC a few months ago and was tipped to clinch the governorship ticket ahead of the next election in less than 20 months.
A source close to the family confirmed his demise saying the senator died in a hotel in London, the United Kingdom.
He had left for London two days ago after the Senate went into recess.
Until his death, he served as the CEO of Capital Oil, which he established in 2001.
He also established the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation.
In September 2022, the deceased escaped assassination when he was attacked by gunmen on his way to Nnewi in Enugwu-Ukwu in Anambra State.
His convoy was reportedly shot at and at least 5 persons, including two policemen, were killed, the police said.
The deceased is survived by a wife Uchenna, with whom they shared five children.
There’s no immediate official confirmation from the family or the national assembly.
