ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately measure from construction drawings.
  • Timeously and accurate submission of monthly invoices, including VO’s and site instructions.
  • Timeously and accurate submission of gross profit reports.
  • Contract files up to date and orderly.
  • Agree/negotiate supplier rates of materials.
  • Time sheets and wages.
  • Re-measure Labour only and subcontractor’s progress and payments regularly and accurately.
  • Re-measure job accurately and keep record of detailed re-measurements.
  • Accurate certification of work completed and MOS.
  • Client relations duties.
  • Attend site meetings and provide input where necessary.
  • Sub-Contractors and general staff liaison and relationship duties.
  • Value their workforce and treat them with fairness.
  • Display and maintain leadership.
  • Communicate well to all employees.
  • Re-measure work accurately, agree payment and pay timeously.
  • Assist with procurement to ensure they achieve budget.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • B-tech or BSC Quantity surveying Degree.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in Quantity surveying preferably in the construction or building industry.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Mathematics for calculating material quantities and construction costs.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid South African driver license and own vehicle essential.
