Since her debut back in 1993 in Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers, Cammy has become one of the most popular and iconic characters within Capcom’s Street Fighter franchise. Though she was absent from Street Fighter 3, she ended up returning for Street Fighter 4, Street Fighter 5, and Street Fighter 6 of the mainline series.
It’s not surprising to see that Cammy has become a popular target for cosplayers. As such, we recently took notice of Juligeek’s Instagram page that contains photos of her Cammy White cosplay from a ways back.
Most of Juligeek’s photos of her Cammy cosplay are based on how the character appears in Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter 4. However, Juligeek has also taken it upon herself to pose as Cammy as she appears in Street Fighter 5, which, though similar, has some discernible differences.
Cammy as she appears in Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter 4 is most famous for her green thong leotard. Of course, this part of her attire also ends up returning in Street Fighter 5.
Supposedly, Cammy’s preference for thong leotards stems from the optimal speed, mobility, and flexibility that the outfit allows her. Of course, it should be noted that her appearance is the most different in Street Fighter 6, and she still appears to be just as fast as her previous appearances.
This iteration of Cammy also has marks of green camouflaged paint plastered on her legs. Despite all the green, Cammy is actually known to work for an organization known as “Delta Red” after escaping from Shadaloo’s control.
Notable parts of Cammy’s costume also includes red gauntlets, a red beret, red socks, and black combat boots. She also keeps her long, blonde her in a braid at all times.
In Street Fighter 5, the camouflaged paint has been replaced by gun holster and harness. This slight redesign for Cammy is actually based on one of her earlier character drafts from the days of Street Fighter 2.
Regardless, the gun holster is actually just for show. During gameplay, Cammy never uses a weapon, preferring to always fight hand-to-hand instead.
Though her appearances from Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter 5 are distinctly different, her classic costume in Street Fighter 6 actually functions as an amalgamation of the two. In that game, Cammy is shown to have both the harness and camouflage paint incorporated into her look.
