Jose Mourinho discusses his time at Old Trafford
The Portuguese manager was at the helm at Old Trafford between 2016 and 2018 and is now calling for some retrospective awards.
In 2017/18, The Special One led United to a Europa League victory and came second in the Premier League behind City.
With Manchester City facing legal action around breaches of Profit and Sustainability Rules between 2009 and 2018, Mourinho is calling for the Premier League title to be awarded to Manchester United if City have their titles stripped.
Speaking ahead of their class with United, Mourinho discussed the 2017/18 season, saying: “We won the Europa League and finished second in the Premier League,”
He continued: “I think we still have a chance to win that league. Maybe they punish City with points (deductions) and maybe we win that league. They have to pay me the bonus and give me the medal.”
Mourinho also went on to discuss the recent removal of Sir Alex Ferguson from his role as global ambassador. The Special One commented: “The ambassadorial role… I don’t know in depth the situation.”
He continued: “It doesn’t matter why, what (happened). Sir Alex has the most important thing, which is the love and respect of every Man United fan around the world. That is more important than an ambassadorial role, it is more important than a few pounds that he can make that he doesn’t need.”
