Jordan Henderson reveals Liverpool’s QUADRUPLE ambitions but admits Reds will need luck in Premier League and Champions League during ‘mad’ season
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson insists the Reds are determined to win all four competitions this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are three points adrift of Premier League leaders Manchester City at Christmas and progressed to the last-16 of the Champions League with ease.

Meanwhile, Liverpool also progressed to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup with victory over Leicester on Wednesday night, while their FA Cup campaign begins with the visit of Shrewsbury next month.
Klopp has often been accused of prioritising the Premier League and Champions League over domestic cup competitions, but Henderson says Liverpool want to win everything this season.
“Every competition we’re in, we want to take seriously and we want to go on to try and win,” the England midfielder told talkSPORT, in an exclusive interview ahead of the midweek cup clash with Leicester.
“Every time we’re on the pitch, we want to try and win and try to get the points. I never look too far ahead, to be honest, and say, ‘At the end of the season, we want this’.
“In football, things change so quickly and you need a little bit of luck along the way, especially with the times we’re living in right now.
“A lot can happen, all we’re focussed on is the next game and the next challenge. If we do that, and do it well, we should be in a good position come the end of the season.”

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the football schedule, with Liverpool’s Boxing Day clash with Leeds postponed on Thursday.
Henderson believes consistency through turbulent times will be crucial to success.
“It’s been mad, hasn’t it?” he added. “It’s been a whirlwind for everyone, not only in football, but the whole world. It’s madness, really.
“But in terms of football, this season has been positive for us so far, in all competitions. I think consistency has been key and really good.
“Of course, there’s one or two moments we haven’t played or performed particularly well, but reaction has been good, which is important, and we’ve put ourselves in a good position in all competitions at this point.
“We know there’s a long way to go, a lot to play for, and hopefully we can finish the second-half of the season off just as strongly.”

Henderson was among a number of Liverpool players absent for the 2-2 draw with Spurs, meaning James Milner and Tyler Morton had to start in midfield.
While negative for COVID-19, the Reds skipper was suffering from illness, but reveals he has fully recovered.
“I was disappointed that I wasn’t available and able to play the other day,” he continued.
“With the games coming up, I just wanted to lightly get back into the swing of things so I can be available for the game.
“I was ill for a couple of days, Saturday and Sunday I wasn’t right to be able to play.
“But I feel much better now.”
