Johnny Cage references Jaws with his cinematic Animality in Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns, along with Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot as new DLC fighters, is set to be released tomorrow. Even for those that don’t purchase the DLC content, everyone will be getting access to brand new Animalities that are available for every fighter, including the gust characters.

Earlier today, Johnny Cage’s Animality was revealed. It turns out that, true to his roots as an actor, Johnny Cage’s Animality is just a big Jaws reference.

Unlike with other characters, this Animality begins with a clapperboard labeled as the “Heavy Bite” being clapped. While this is happening, water can be observed filling up the scene while Johnny Cage switches to a shark costume.

Following this, the victim, Shang Tsung in this case, finds himself in the middle of a deep blue ocean. Of course, we can all see where this is going at this point.

After a brief moment, Johnny Cage, as the shark, can be seen circling his prey. Suddenly, he begins his attack against Shang Tsung from deep below.

It doesn’t take much effort for the shark’s jaws to sever Shang Tsung’s body in half. Following this, the shark then moves in to finish his meal.
