Jennifer Lopez details how Ben Affleck proposed

Jennifer Lopez is one of the most famous and recognisable people on planet earth, with her Hollywood career being one of envy to most others in the field, and it now finally appears as though J-Lo is going to be married, with the actor confirming that she and Ben Affleck are now officially engaged.

It is a long 18 years since the initial engagement between the pair was called off in January if 2014, but now the duo are set to become man and wife.

“On Saturday night, while I was in my favourite place on earth, my beautiful love got down on one knee and proposed to me,” Lopez confirmed in a new episode of On The JLo.

“My head was spinning over the fact that after 20 years this was happening again, I was literally speechless. I said yes.”

Timing hasn’t always been on their side

This engagement may well be an example of true love conquering all else, with the timing between the pair having never truly been right before now.

Lopez has been married to Marc Anthony, whilst Affleck had children during his marriage to Jennifer Garner, yet now the pair have finally been single at the same time, following their dramatic 2004 breakup.

“It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was the most romantic thing I could have imagined,” she continued.

“Two people who promise to always be there for each other. Two very lucky people, we have had a second chance at true love.”

Lopez believes she is smarter

After the 2004 breakup, many wondered just what had gone wrong for one of Hollywood’s favourite couples, and ahead of their upcoming nuptials, Lopez believes that both Affleck and herself have benefited from life experience and are smarter now.

“We’re older now, we’re smarter, we’re more experienced,” Lopez detailed to People magazine.

“We’re in different places in our lives, we have kids now. We have to be very mindful of those things, we’ve been in the game in the public eye long enough to know who we are as people, what really matters and we doesn’t.”
