Even though the Street Fighter 6 closed beta has been over for more than a week, it’s been difficult for most of the FGC to get a sense for what the Japanese competitive scene is thinking about the game due to the language barrier.

We can now, however, get a sense of how one of the Japanese fighting game gods in GyoGun|Mago felt about Jamie and his “BS moves” thanks to FGC Translated.

The video begins with Mago seemingly testing out SF6’s drunken master for the first time where the 2D god is immediately taken aback by how good he thinks Jamie’s medium pokes are as well as the combos he can get off of command grab.

Jamie’s real BS starts to show itself once the multi-game champion figures out that his Overdrive rush punch can be +5 on block when spaced correctly.

All of the newcomer’s moves has Mago believing on first impression that Jamie is an annoying character to fight against, but fun to play as — so of course he mained the character.

That art of the BS is quickly put to the test though when Mago is faced with iXA|Gunfight’s Ken online where he learns how much he still doesn’t know.

Although it would be nice to hear more of his thoughts closer to the end of the beta experience, getting to see how Mago learns and approaches a new game is still an interesting watch, which you can check out below.
