A fresh batch of Street Fighter 6 online character usage stats has been released by Capcom. This time, we get to see who the most popular characters were for the month of September across various rank ranges.
Within these usage stats, there have been a handful of shifts in placement from the previous month. One of the most interesting changes, though, is that despite his low tier status Jamie has pushed Chun-Li out of the top 5 for most used characters in Rookie rank.
The August 2023 stats showed that Rookie ranked players gravitated most toward some of the most popular faces in the franchise’s history. Juri sat at #1 most used in Rookie, followed by Cammy, Ken, Luke, and finally Chun-Li.
Street Fighter 6’s initial newcomers have been quite popular since they got officially revealed, and it looks like people still love Jamie even though he isn’t considered all too good in the current version of the game. The drunken boxing fighter managed to snatch up the #5 spot on the top 5 Rookie list in September.
Moving up to the Iron through Gold ranks, there really isn’t too much different here. Comparing the last two months of stats, we see that the only change in this category is that Juri and Cammy have swapped places, with Juri now sitting at #2 and Cammy at #3.
In September, higher ranked players — Platinum through Master — still favored Ken over any other character in the game. Widely considered one of, if not, the best fighter in the entire game, it makes sense why those who play the game seriously would opt to choose him over other characters on the roster.
This category did see some shifts in placements, as well as a new character enter the top 5. In August, the rest of the top 5 consisted of Marisa, Ryu, Cammy, and Juri in that order.
The top 5 most used characters among Platinum through Master ranked players in September was made up of Ken, Ryu, Marisa, Luke, and Cammy. It’s surprising to see someone like Ryu be among the most used when he too isn’t considered all that strong in the game, however, Ken and Ryu often topped the popularity charts back in Street Fighter 5 as well, and Ryu was in a similar low tier boat back then.
