Carragher has urged United to sell Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes as the Evertonian deems both players to not be of standard to where United should be.
Speaking candidly, Carragher on his Telegraph column said Marcus Rashford is “not delivering value for his lucrative contract” and claimed United “will NEVER win the Premier League or Champions League” with him leading the line.
The Sky Sports pundit insisted that due to the ‘pantomime’ around the player, United should look to dispose of the 27-year-old.
On Bruno Fernandes, Carragher said: “Selling him MUST be a consideration. He creates chances but is very indisciplined with and without the ball.”
The club may well look to demand a comparatively high fee should they look to sell Fernandes, despite recently turning 30.
The outspoken pundit’s comments come amid growing criticism of United’s squad amid their turbulent season.
Lastily, Carragher touched upon Bruno’s fit in the team as he said: “It makes it a lot harder for United to defend as a compact unit as he chases the ball all over the pitch. It looks like great commitment to the supporters, but the manager will be tearing his hair out.”
Amorim’s side currently sit 13th in the league with only 19 goals scored in the Premier League so far this season. In comparison, Chelsea have netted 35 which only illustrates the lack of goalscoring touch at United this season.
The blame from the fans have heavily weighed on Fernandes and Rashford, with the latter repeatedly squaring up to criticism faced online.
Rashford has struggled to make a name for himself this season with only 4 goals in the league.
