Jake Paul offers Katie Taylor and Eddie Hearn £1.6million for Amanda Serrano rematch and labels her the ‘pound-for-pound GOAT’

The first fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano was ground-breaking, going some way to bridge the pay gap between men’s and women’s boxing.

After Jake Paul‘s latest tweet, it seems the rematch could go even further towards that cause.

The quality of the first fight means a rematch should be even bigger in terms of interest

“Amanda Serrano is the greatest P4P female fighter of all time.” Paul said on Twitter.

“Serrano fought at 140 pounds once in her career (138 pounds) and then four months later fought at 115 pounds. P4P GOAT.

“Offer stands, $2M for Katie (2x what Eddie offered Amanda for the rematch). 126 or 130 lbs.”

The first fight was an epic encounter, as the Irishwoman was almost stopped in the fifth round, but she recovered well to win just enough rounds to earn a split decision victory.

As soon as the result was announced, talk of a rematch began, with both sides agreeing they wanted to do it again.

That fight was for Taylor’s undisputed lightweight world titles.

Serrano’s preferred weight is a little bit lighter and so this is where herself and Paul are hoping to host the rematch.

As it stands, Serrano is featuring as the co-main event at Madison Square Garden on August 6, as Paul takes on Hasim Rahman Jr and the Puerta Rican will fight Brenda Karen Carabajal at featherweight.
