Manchester United want around £50m to sell Jadon Sancho this summer, Ben Jacobs reports.
It is the same price that was quoted to Al-Ettifaq when they enquired about a loan with obligation to buy.
Sancho has been on loan at Borussia Dortmund since January this year after falling out with manager Erik ten Hag. He crticised Sancho’s training performance following the Arsenal match on September 3, 2023:
”On his performance in training we didn’t select him. You have to reach the level every day at Manchester United.”
The Englishman then took to social media to deny his manager’s words and referred to himself as a scapegoat.
The bridges between them were burned beyond repair and Sancho was sent on loan back to his former club. His spell with the the Black and Yellows has been a fruitful one for all parties.
Sancho himself seems to have restored his confidence and is playing to a high standard. He was vital to Dortmund’s 1-0 semi-final win against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League.
”Jadon played very good, he showed why Manchester United bought him and he showed he represents a high value for the club,” said ten Hag when asked about Sancho’s display against PSG.
With that, Manchester United have managed to benefit as his good performances will only increase the price tag they can demand in the upcoming summer transfer window.
While the possiblity for the winger to stay at Old Trafford beyond the summer has been touted, it looks unlikely at this stage.
