It's jarring to see Baraka handling a shotgun like Peacemaker in Mortal Kombat 1 but modding has apparently made it a thing

Peacemaker was recently added to Mortal Kombat 1 as a DLC fighter. Contrary to how one might think he would play, he tends to function more as a brawler rather than a zoning character.

Regardless, Peacemaker’s Fatal Blow has him utilizing a shotgun. As a reference to the Peacemaker series, he ends up adopting a stance in which he holds his shotgun between his legs before firing it.

It probably would not be a good idea to replicate this sort of action in real life, but modders have already made it a point to port over Peacemaker’s animations for other characters in Mortal Kombat 1. As such, Baraka can now be seen pulling off the Fatal Blow.

Though it’s a little jarring to see Baraka performing this sort of action, it’s also kind of hilarious. Baraka isn’t really known for blasting opponents with firearms like this since he has two retractable blades that he can utilize at any time.

Of course, it should be noted that in Mortal Kombat 9, Baraka and another Tarkatan can be seen handling shotguns during the main story mode. The other Tarkatan ended up accidentally pointing the shotgun that he was holding at Baraka, which left Baraka displeased. It felt like this cutscene was intended to show that Baraka actually had some intelligence and wasn’t just simply a savage.
