ROLE DESCRIPTION
The IT Manager is a strategic role that bridges the gap between complex business problems and innovative technical solutions. This position is responsible for leading the IT department and overseeing the design, implementation, and management of technology-based systems that support and enhance organizational operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design & Development:
- Lead the design and development of scalable IT solutions with Business Intelligence front-ends that meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define system, data analysis and reporting requirements and select appropriate technologies.
- Ensure the alignment of IT strategy and planning with the company’s business goals.
Automation & Process Improvement:
- Drive the automation of processes and integration of platforms to increase efficiency and accuracy across the organization.
- Implement monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve system performance issues.
- Champion the adoption of new technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, that facilitate automation and digital transformation.
Enterprise Architecture:
- Develop and maintain an enterprise architecture strategy that supports the strategic goals of the organization.
- Guide the creation of an IT infrastructure that is flexible, scalable, and secure.
- Oversee the evaluation and selection of hardware and software by analyzing the trade-offs between usability, performance needs and cost.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Manage and mentor a small team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Set clear team goals and KPIs, and evaluate performance regularly.
- Encourage professional development opportunities to keep the team up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.
Project Management:
- Oversee the full project lifecycle, from conception to deployment, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
- Apply project management methodologies to ensure smooth and efficient execution of IT projects.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback.
Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with software and hardware vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and manage service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure vendor performance.
- Evaluate new vendor products and make recommendations for the procurement of new technologies.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure cyber and data security and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular system audits to detect vulnerabilities and ensure the integrity of data.
- Lead disaster recovery planning and execute drills to ensure business continuity.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that the IT department not only keeps pace with but also anticipates and responds to the changing needs of the business and its customers. The IT and Digital Solutions Manager must be both a technical expert and a visionary leader, capable of driving innovation while maintaining operational excellence.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in IT management, solution design, and enterprise architecture.
- Good understanding of computer systems, networks, cyber and data security, telecommunications, databases, cloud and storage systems.
- Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
