Tehran, IRNA – The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced its readiness to provide humanitarian aid to the victims of the recent earthquake in Afghanistan.
The head of the IRCS, Pir-Hossein Koulivand, expressed his condolences to Afghanistan and confirmed the society’s commitment to providing aid, relief, healthcare, and support for relief operations.
In a message to the caretaker of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, Koulivand stated that the IRCS is fully prepared to assist in the quake-hit areas of Afghanistan.
The devastating earthquake, registering a magnitude of 6.3, struck 25 miles west of Herat in western Afghanistan on Saturday. The tragic event resulted in the loss of at least 2,000 lives.
