Duties and responsibilities
Provide the full IR function to the business
Ensure all IR / HR policies are complied with and draft or amend policies as necessary
Represent the company at the CCMA
Train line management in aspects of IR
Provide advice and recommendations to the business on IR matters
Provide monthly IR reports
Keep the business up to date on amendments regarding labour related matters
Facilitate all disciplinary procedures
Ensure proper investigation of all alleged misconduct
Ensure that appropriate disciplinary action is taken
Assist and facilitate disciplinary hearings
Chair hearings and act as the IR Representative
Ensure that the correct IR processes are followed within the business
Assist with the issuing of sanctions in accordance with policies
Draft and amend any agreement that may be required, such as settlement agreements, retrenchment agreements and mutual separation agreements
Ensure that all IR matters raised are handled timeously
Qualifications and experience
Minimum 5 years experience in an IR management role
Degree in Human Resources specialising in Labour Relations or LLB Degree (admitted attorney is advantageous)
Valid drivers license
Experience attending CCMA cases
Extensive knowledge of labour legislation – BCEA, LRA, EEA etc
Sound knowledge of HR best practices
Strong communication, mediation, and conflict resolution skills
