Ada Ebekwarra II, Signor Omang Idiege has hailed the chief of staff to the Cross River state Governor Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, Chief Peter Higgins, Chief Peter Ojie, Dr .Emana Amawhe , Martha Agba and Other Awardees at the 2025 Bekwarra New Yam Festival (Ipem Ihihe).
The Chief of Staff Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar who was conferred with the title of Okpenihe 1 of Bekwara (One Who Unifies People) and Chief Peter Higgins, The Ukereni 1 of Bekwara (People’s Helper) among others were were awarded for their valuable contributions to good governance and political stability in the state.
Idiege while hosting dignitaries and political stalwarts in his country home, described the awardees as pillars of democracy in Cross River state who have contributed to the political stability and growth in the state.

“The chief of staff is a bridge builder, his significant contributions to the state’s growth and development has continually earned him sincere accolades, which also underscores the integral role he is playing in supporting Governor Otu’s policies and initiatives, solidifying his position as a trusted aide” Idiege said.
The Ada Ebekwara thanked them for finding time to come celebrate Ipem Ihihe with them stating that this brings to fore the spirit of unity and solidarity enjoyed in the state.
The Ipem Ihihe is an annual Bekwara cultural festival that signifies the beginning of harvest for the Bekwara farmers.
The annual celebration is known to bring together sons and daughters of Bekwara as well as political stake holders and well wishes to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Bekwara nation.
Other dignitaries in attendance included the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba, Member representing Obudu, Bekwara, Obanliju Hon. Peter Akpanke, the Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly Hon. Sylvester Agabi, Commissioner for youths Barr. Ijom Ukam among others.
